No hes a big boy.. or big giel.. baby normally are 6 pounds-8pounds
There's honestly no way to tell. 1. Those are estimates and are usually off, up to 1-2lbs. 2. Growth is only average. Babies can gave a growth spurt, then slow way down. You honestly don't know until he's born!.
Its normal Im 37weeks and 4days and my daughter is 6lbs and 7oz
If she's big. Would they do a c section. .. I'm scared I really don't want one
Im 35 weeks and my doctors say hes measuring big as well ,
Im 36 n 5 days measuring 6 and a half.
Im 35 n 5 days measuring 6 and a half.
my son measured 6lbs at 32 weeks so I'm concerned about a 10lb poundbaby lol
A) those "measurements" are basically just guesses. They can be off by quite a bit as a previous poster said.
B) right at the end baby only grows about half an ounce a day - so about 3.5oz per week. A 6lb baby at 35 weeks is likely to be somewhere between 7-8lbs - not "big" by any means.
C) a "big baby" is not a reason for a c-section. Women have 10+lb babies vaginally every single day. Not a big deal and not necessarily that much harder to deliver than a smaller baby. My 9lb baby boy was delivered not only vaginally but med-free and I had no tearing or damage - and I'm only 5'2", 120lbs pre-pregnancy.
Nothing to worry about. I wouldn't even let it cross your mind. Baby has to come out one way or another - but vaginally is definitely best, way fewer complications. Just keep a positive attitude and birth that baby! Don't let anyone try to talk you into a c-section based on an ultrasound with a huge margin of error. Major surgery for no good reason would be pretty awful.
They said at a growth ultrasound i had that my little girl was already 5lbs.2ounces , thinking she will be 8 lbs at birth , my first born was 8.8 lbs and my 2nd was 6.2 , i haven't gained nearly as much or look as big as i did with my first bit at 37 almost 38 weeks i look like i did when i had my 2nd. So i think she's just long and maybe 7 pounds
