thank you all for your comments. i will talk to my husband tonight- maybe to change the spelling to make it a bit more masculine. just don't want my son to be teased too much at school :)
Hmmm...Honestly: not a fan of Jalen for a boy...I do think it sounds nice for a girl though...I have never heard of this name before so I don't have any preconceived notion of 'who' a Jalen is.
Also, you could change it just a bit to Jaylon...Then it doesn't have the lynn sound and doesn't sound girly at all.
I don't really think it sounds girly, but I think the spelling Grose mentioned (Jaelin) looks more masculine to me for some reason than Jalen.
I have two Jalen's in my class this year and they are both girls! :(
There are a lot of names that can go either way though...Riley, Jordan, Ashton, etc...It's definitely just a personal choice! :)
I was actually thinking of naming my daughter(if I were to be blessed with one) Jaylynn. Which can make a difference in how you say it. Theres Jay-Lynn (mine) or Jay-len, which sounds more masculin. But either way I think they are kind of girly! Anything-in/ynn/en/on is so...typical these days lol I have too many kids popping up around me with those endings. Cailen, Kaden, Jayden...so many! lol maybe its just the ens though. Lol good luck hun!
I think its cute! and all the Jaylins I know are little boys!
I also think it is feminine.. Thats just my opinion though!
It is super popular as a boys name!
Girly! A good friend of mine is Jaylen and my neice is Jayden. I know Jayden can go both ways but I guess I always think of Lyn as a girls name. Good luck!
It is a boy name, I know 3 Jalen all with different spellings though. Jaylen, Jaelin and the way you have.
It is getting to be a very common name.
Sounds like a boy name to me. I love it actually.
