Bit of a gross question but...

I'm 14.5weeks preggers and have noticed my discharge had changed to a yellow colour (ewww!). I had swabs taken by my midwife last week which came up clear. This week I've been on antibiotics, could I have developed thrush instantly? or can discharge just be yellowish? I'm so over worrying about everything :-(

Antibiotics can change the Ph down there which can cause tummy upset and discharge down there both of which yogurt can help with. If you don't have itching, burning, icky smell or anything I wouldn't worry too much about it. Usually any sort of infection or bacteria has warning signs like itching, burning, uncomfortable, pain, cramping, foul smell and such.

Is it foul-smelling? If the swabs came up clear, depending on how long they've had to grow and what she tested for, it's unlikely that it's an infection, plus you're on antibiotics, and provided they're the right ones, should take care of any kind of infection that might cause yellow discharge. Yeast can sometimes be yellowish, and that's because of the antibiotics, eating yogurt should help put back some of what's been taken away and fix that. It's only worrisome if it's copious and foul smelling and bright yellow or green, and usually there's itching and burning with that too. Hope that helps, it's a bummer to have so much to worry about, just wait until there's a whole new little person to worry about!!! It gets better, hang in there!
