Bleeding but no pain - miscarriage?

Hi, hoping someone can help. My wife is 11 weeks pregnant, at the start of this week she was experiencing some spotting. This stopped on Wednesday but got slightly worse today. We went to the hospital and a doctor at a&e told us she was probably having a miscarriage. We were sent to the early pregnancy unit where they examined her cervix and found a clot outside of the cervix and said her cervix was closed. We have a scan on tuesday, should we expect bad news?

Did they use the doppler n listen for a heartbeat or an ultrasound? They would b able to knw for sure wit an ultrasound.. I had a mc in 09 n they told me I was having one jus from an ultrasound.... but normally they hook you up n listen for a heartbeat... if they didn't... id go to a different hospital like it was suggested above... good luck...

All they did was take a urine sample. If the cervix is closed and she hasn't had any big clots surely there is some hope!?! They said they couldn't fit us in for the u/s today.

I wish I could tell you something for sure but I can't.  Unfortunately no one can.  I can say that bleeding doesn't always equal a miscarriage, as many will tell you on here.  I am super surprised that they didn't scan your wife, right then and there.  That part doesn't make any sense to me.  They certainly have an u/s machine in a hospital.  Did they take blood to make check her HCG levels?
