Boiling bottles!

So the whole time Cole was a newborn, I just used the dishwasher to boil his bottles..  then like a month ago I boiled them for the first time in a pan of hot water.. they were already clean, i dipped everything in hot boiling water, then washed them up again.. For some reason that dont see right to me.. am I supposed to wash them boil, or boil then wash..  ugh only 6 months left on bottles!!!!!!!!!!

I was told to wash them first then sterilize them (Boil them) because then the boiling/sterilizing kills all the germs and stuff and clears any unwashed away soap!

I always wash them first,then boil them or use a steam bottle sterilizer,
