Braxton Hicks???

Sorry in advance for my ignorance :/. I'm almost 38 weeks pregnant, this is my first pregnancy and I've been having lower back pains and cramps. Are these braxton hicks, if not then how do bh feel? Also how do I know I'm having contractions? Thank you so much

Thanks ladies. Yeah they do come in waves but are not that close together, but I will most definately start timing them. Yeah when I get the crampy feeling I don't feel my stomach getting hard but more pressure in my pelvic region. I will pay close attention to them :)

Do the cramps come in waves? Could be contractions. Definitely time them and see how close they are. When you get a BH, it usually just feels like a tightening of the stomach. Some can be a little painful or take your breath away. But with real contractions, you will feel the tightening/crampy feeling, pressure, and possibly some back pain. (it's a little different for everyone) For me, I always knew I was in labor when I felt lots of pressure and had to breathe through my contractions. Time them, and if you get more than 4-6 in an hour, call your doc. They may want to at least check you to see if anything is happening. You are getting close though!

I was told by my doctor today if u have more then 6 contractions on one hour she wants to know so I can go to labor and delivery.. Relax for the next hour, drink lots of water and time the contractions.. If they r consistent I would go in.. It could b the real thing but if it they r not consistent then I would just let ur OB know 2moro!! Good luck let me know!! They feel like cramps/ sharp
pains like a quickening.. The real contractions are similar without the quickening they last longer.. And u feel more pressure in ur pelvis/ uterous area.
