Hmm, well i still get confused from time to time. I can't remember which website I read Dr's count the "months" by 4 wks + 4d that completes a month.  It hasn't even ocurred to ask my OB. :/

This is why you count weeks... 40 weeks is 40 weeks regardless of how you look at months. Some people do it differently and that's OK. My book from my doctor counts 4 week months, but the last 4 weeks are referred to as "term" not month 10. Also, some people are pregnant for 42 weeks, so really nor everyone is only pregnant for 9 months. We are all pregnant for somewhere between 9 and 10 months and that's OK. If you want to know how your doctor counts just ask.

^^^ that's cool... Except for the fact that it doesn't matter. Youa don't count pregnancy by calander months. You count be standard months which is 4 weeks. Not everyone gets pregnant the same time of year.. Some people aren't even pregnant in February depending on the time they get pregnant.. I won't be pregnant in July or august .. Calander months have absolutely nothing to do with pregnancy

How you have it... Months 3,6,8,9 all have 5 weeks and the rest have four. When counting the months of pregnancy you count 4 weeks. Not calendar months. And yes you are pregnant for 10 months total. 40 weeks = 10 months.

U know when u had sex n when ur lmp was! That's what the doctor is for! To break down stuff for u! & if it's not right or its American does it matter?? Nobody said u had to go by the chart! I dont understand how there is 5 weeks in some months, and three in others? Seems weird to me...

Thank you for doing something to help all us ladies that are trying to figure it out :) I am at the end of being 6months next week 7months:).

You hold the baby in your womb for 10 months total the chart is wrong. If you look inside the pregnancy book your doctor gives you, you would know.

I've never heard a docter say your pregnant for 10months either. I brought it up to all my gfs today and they laughed. my mother who has had 6kids made it clear she was not pregnant for 10months and I even rung my specialist to confirm it. people who say they are pregnant for 10months cant count..this is accurate. Im from the other side of the world and this is how we base our months off. my cousin who lives in canada I spoke to just last night confirmed she uses this.method over there also. so this is correct. about time someone posts an accurate chart. THANK U!!!! BUMP BUMP BUMP!!! no one is pregnant for 10months simple as that!!!!

This is how my doctor explained it to me personally so take the information and do as you choose, if its different where your from thats not my fault. So if you count by 4 weeks every month than you would say your pregnant 10 months and ive never heard a doctor say your pregnant for 10 months not 9...just a thought. Idk im not a genious and dont pretend to be im just sharing what I have learned so stop bashing!!!

I think it makes people confused this way!! 20 weeks is suppose to be half way mark! And how am i gonna be 6 months for 5 weeks but the other months 4??? This is my second child and i never heard it this way! You are really suppose to count pregnancy from week 4! If you try to take a test it won't show until 4 weeks.

The chart basically says that ur 1mth-4 wks 2mth-8wks 3mth-13 4mth-17wks 5mth-21wks 6mth-26wks 7mth-30wks 8mth-35wks and 9mth-40wks
