I think your reason for not wanting to breastfeed, should be the reason you do. I think you should challenge yourself with breastfeeding, it could help you quit for good. If you've made it 9mo. Not smoking,  why go back to such a bad habit?  Second hand smoke isn't good for the baby either. Just as worse. Breastfeeding is an amazing gift I'm on baby #3 & have breastfed all my babies up until recently when I found out I was preggers. When you're baby is born,  you'll want to make the best decision for you & Your baby, its an undescribable feeling. Mommy knows best.

I only did it for 2 mo because I didn't produce enough. Then it was formula and she was fine. Never had a tummy ache and rarely threw/spit up. Breast feeding is hard and its great for some. Didn't work for me. I will try again with this baby. If you decide to try and it doesn't work out, don't beat yourself up.

Wishes that's a really mean generalization to make about bfing moms. Hands down I think bfing is best, I don't think many would contest that, but I'd never EVER say, think, allude or assume formula fed babies just get a bottle shoved in their mouths. I understand the negativity but you made a really broad generalization and its hurtful and hateful. Imo everyone just tries to do the best they can for their baby.

It doesn't hurt to try but if you can't your baby will be okay. All three of my kids have been formula feed exclusively and they are the healthiest kids you could ever meet. Seriously it's almost freakish how healthy they are. They never get anything worse than a common cold and have only had to antibiotics a few times each and the oldest two are 13 and 10! You also can bond just fine without breastfeeding. I swear it seems like breastfeeding mommies all think we shove a bottle in their mouths walk off and ignore them. You still will hold them close making eye contact talking or singing or rocking them while they take their bottles. It's still a special time for you and baby.

All you can really do is try it and go from there. Its going to be hard not going to lie but in the end it was worth it for me. Id give it a week minimun and go from there. It takes a lot longer than a week for you and baby to get ahold of things breastfeeding wise and when you do most of the time they eat more productively (my daughter would be done in 10 minutes) and its less painful. But in reality its up to you.

You REALLY SHIULD. no question about it. Its way healthier for ur baby. Babies on formual get sick more often and throw up more often get upset stomaches ect. Also it creates a great bond for your baby and skin to skin contact is great for ur baby. Ur boobs regulate ur babys temp. And alot of other stuff. I highly recommend doing it if u want whats best for your baby.
