I just got back from the hospial and my numbers have doubled and my exam still all looks good except while i was there i starting having really bad cramps that were literally making me shead tears...they are easing up now since i came home and had a hot bath but it is still very scary...the doctor says its a 50/50 chance with the pregnancy and they will do a repeat of blood to check my levels again monday...the pains worry me the most...this is so scary/painful.

I had a miscarriage and got pregnant again 6 weeks later at 5 weeks I started to bleed bright red blood which happened almost everyday for 5 weeks straight and never had a miscarriage. My daughter is now 8 months old and as healthy as can be. I would ask the doctors for a repeat ultrasound in about a week and also get your levels checked again to make sure they are rising. You might also want to see if you have a subchorionic hematoma (which is what was causing my bleeding). They are actually pretty common during pregnancy and are from a cut in your uterus. Not all people bleed vaginally for them but some do.

Unfortunately... it is familiar to me.  I miscarried in March at 6w4d.  Spotted a few days prior, went to the ER said my cervix was closed and they found the sac and all that.  All looked fine, but then the following day I began having mild cramps which turned to intense ones and I began bleeding bright red... and eventually I miscarried.  So, I hope that is not the case with you.  I would schedule an appt. for next week with your OB if all is well this weekend.  They will be able to better assess what is happening.  Wish you the best.
