Fibroid tumors are composed of renegade muscle cells that come together to form a fibrous "knot" or "mass" within the uterus. It's not cancer. If it wasn't taken out it could have been difficult for you to become pregnant again. But now that it's taken out you are still able to have more kids. But remember if you did want to have a natural birth after a csection, you could if you find a doctor who could do that.
I hope that you have a fast recovery sweetie.
If you know the cause, like higher levels of oestrogen, then you can reduce that different ways.
I know the chemicals we expose our bodies to daily have seemed to increase incidences like this, endometriosis, etc. You could try switching to menstrual cups. I switched almost two years ago and noticed ligter periods, less pain (back, cramping). Now, some women don't have pain with menses and fibroids, but after reading some studies... Women who stopped using chemical laden tampons, pads (which are terrible, like diapers, they have absorbant chemicals) showed lower incidences of fibroids etc.
Plus, depending on the menstrual cup, you could still have sex without it being messy.
You should be fine having more children though they might treat the rest of your pregnancies as high risk if they detect them in subsequent pregnancies
Ok thank y'all I was so worried. I'm only 24 and I'm still trying to enjoy my life and have a family. I just don't understand why my Obgyn didn't tell me I had one end till she was doing my c section I mean I was pregnant for 9 months I think she would have saw that.
Yeah, it could've been difficult to see on the ultrasound... I certainly hope it was more like it developed later on and that's why she missed yours.
My friend was labeled high risk and heavily monitored when they saw them early on. She's older though.
I might consider a different Ob of I were you. At least see some reviews. My Ob was great, something shifted, he had the nerve to yell at me and others and when I looked at other reviews he had turned into an a$$hole to everyone and I changed solely to midwife.
