CMV

Cant some please help me with some informations about CMV wile pregnant im 34 weeks pregnant and in my last blood test At 31 weeks it came out that i had CMV wich i dont have anymore but i could efect the baby if i had it in First trimester . My blood test never cand back bad or that i had it in First trimester but my doc dosent know when i had it . I so scaerd not he said it could have efect in the baby for life : hearing , seeing and sometimes even brain problemes . I would really love some more info about it and it someone had experince it and how it end up . On monday a have special ultra sound to check is there any sing that the baby is efectet and after maybe he will do am MRA and a amino wich im scaerd of . Im so sterres . Need help please

CMV does not leave your body... It is part of the herpes family and you will have it forever.... 80 percent of the population has this and doesnt even know cause it is rare that it causes issues... Why were you tested for CMV? thats not  routine preg test at least not in canada....

My brothers girlfriend got infected with CMV while she was pregnant they dont know what trimester it happened and had no idea till she was born... now she was one of the unlucky people that got hit hard by the virus... by the time she was 6 months old she had 9 brain surgeries... she suffers seizures all the time, she is now 13 months old and still cant hold her own head up she will prob never walk or talk and from what i have learned about it is that it only affects to this degree 1 percent of the time... you could request another U/S cause I know when she was born the one thing that stuck out was that she had a big head... i think from fluid on the brain... she also had very low platelets I believe...  I really hope that your baby will be okay...  which it probably will be but you should really disscuss the topic with your doctor
