Can I have Imitation Crab salad?

I bought imitation crab salad from the grocery store deli. It has imitation crab, little shrimp, olives, celery, and shredded cheese in it.

I was just wondering if it was safe to eat since everything I've read goes either way.

Thanks ladies for the advice. I ended up not being able to eat it anyways. (Husband got to it before I had a chance.) But I did talk to my doctor and he said that if the shrimp is pink and its not expired, then its perfectly fine to eat.

Basically my doctor says the rule of thumb with any sort of deli is not to beat it unless it's heated all the way through (even if it's cooked) So since I'm assuming you're not gonna fry up your salad, it might be a good idea to just steer clear of it

I personally wouldn't eat it. Where I am they really encourage you to stay away from deli food as you don't know when it was made, how long its been out, and we've had a lot of cases of listeria here. Its the same with subway. But I've seen a lot of women from the US on here not worry so much so maybe the contradicting information is because of different countries stance on it.

The shrimp in the salad would be fully cooked. Its fine :-) .... (Shrimp is ALWAYS served cooked because even to non-pregnant people eating it raw or undercooked can make you very ill)

Imitation crab is fine but you're only supposed to eat shrimp if it's heated all the way through so I would be careful with that.
