Can I take robitussin?

I just started a cough this evening. It's making me cough hard and was hoping to take something but everything says consult a doctor. Does anyone know if I can take anything? Otherwise I might shoot this baby out with one of these awful coughs! Lol I was thinking maybe robitussin could be the answer. Please let me know!

Or put vicks on your chest. Helped me tremendously! On top of the honey. I mainly put it on before sleeping

Well I took a small dose just to hold me over until I can call the dr tomorrow. But hopefully it will al be okay.

Robitussin DM is what I was told to take.

My doctor told me to take delsym and not robitussin, but that might have been just me

Another thing you can do for coughing is taking honey either in tea or straight. It coats your thoat to help ease coughing :)
