what gives with the bloating!!!

I am 8 weeks pregnant and I am SO bloated it is starting to hurt. I have my first appointment on Thursday, but I am nervous about how bloated I am. Its so hard and protruding. The weird thing is to that since I found out I was pregnant I have not gained any weight...I fluctuate between 3-4 pounds but never stays on. Anybody that can shed some light on this subject or let me know if this is normal or not, would super appreciated!!!!

thanks ladies!! I would love to go #2 to help get rid of all the bloating but I am constipated. I am hoping that when I go see my doctor tomorrow they give me something for the constipation because I eat fiber, veggies and fruit like crazy and nothing!!!!

Oh I already had to get new clothes because my jeans are too tight when I sit all day at my computer. thank goodness it is summer!

Hello!  I have the same as you!  I am 8 weeks, 2 days and I get bloated, and then I'll
"take a huge dump" (dont mean to be so blunt) but then I will lose the water weight..

I do drink a lot of water as it is, but gosh.. !!  My weight fluctuates a bit too..
I was FINALLY able to exercise yesterday, and I know that helps move things around so...   maybe that it something you can do.. I just do light cardio and weights. DR approved though..   I already had my first OB appt.

It's so wonderful that I have to wear exercise pants now cause my jeans dont fit anymore.

Well it's definitely not the uterus/baby just yet. Bloating is definitely a pregnancy symptom. If you've had other children before then the bloating seems worse with subsequent pregnancies. I had to wear maternity jeans early on because I couldn't handle my pants on the bloat.

So my suggestion is to DRINK TONS of water (helps keep you from retaining a lot of water) and don some maternity jeans so you're more comfortable. Motherhood Maternity has these wonderful jeans that have a nylon-type belly band (if you like the bands) that you cannot see through clothes. The dark blue panels are REALLY noticeable through tops.
