Can a playpen replace a crib?

I'm a FTM and I bought a Playpen with bassinet option and reversible napper and changer. I don't have much room and a tight budget. You guys think that my playpen and basinnet (all in one) can replace a crib?

That is all I am doing for my daughter. I even asked my midwife If I truly needed a crib and she said no as long as the support is there for the back. I do not want a crib because of my fur baby. He is small and the slats in a crib can kill him. So pack and play is what I am using. Best of luck sweet heart!

Side note. If you go online they even sell waterproof sheets for the pack and play. As well as other type of sheets. That are for a pack and play. Which I am using so the thin pad that comes with it doesn't get ruined so quickly.

My daughter used hers until 18ish months and then switched to a toddler bed. It started as a bassinet as well. I only got a pack n play for my son as well.

My son slept in a play pen and he's fine. And I plan to do it again. I just buy the ones that have the middle section too so its not low to the ground. And make sure there is no pillows or toys or animals around. And dress warm the less blankets the better,!
