Can it be contractions?

I am 40 weeks today and I don't want my baby to get too big and it's been really hard to do ANY THING because it hurts. So i took Castor Oil this morning at about 8 am. I am having some sort of uncomfortable cramps on my abdomen. Can they be contractions? Idk if they are the real thing or just gas. I haven't really had the runs or anything just a little bit of diarrea.

It could be. Wait a while and track the pains using a contraction timer. That's how I figured out I was in labor.
