Can you get pregnant close to your period?

I had sex about five days before my period should start. If I am pregnant, will my period come anyway since it's so early? Or will I miss it? I really am so lost, I have no idea how this stuff works. Any help will be appreciated.

I have an irregular cycle so by my drs best guess and by mine I concieved the day before I was supposed to have my period. It wouldnt make a difference in the pregnancy, its just not as common for that to occure and might mess with your due date a little bit.

Thank you for answering. Would you happen to know if it matters that it was a bit longer before my period... Since I read that it takes about five days for sperm to join with the egg, if the egg were to get fertilized right before my period is supposed to start would it make a difference?

I had sex 2 days before my period with this pregnancy i got my period for that month which was 2 days after i had had intercourse but then the next month i didnt get a period
