Can you have contractions and not know it

Newbie here to the forum but not to pregnancy. Im on my 4 th child but dont remember if what im feeling are contractions or not. Ive not had "normal" contractions before. Ill describe this ....Stomach gets tight but not at a noticable pattern. I have had 3 days of loose stools and now feel constipated... Dr said not to worry til contractions are normal and closer together but i dont know. Yes i know better to be safe than sorry and go get checked. But what are some thoughts

With my last pregnancy i had 2 days of loose bm then the day i had my daughter the best way to desrcibe it was i felt constipated. I didnt feel any contractions just a need for a bm. Ive had 3 days of loose now and a lot of stomach tightening but not regular. So i have been told to wait. Im 32 weeks along but measure 36. All my babies have been early. I was in the hospital 45 min before my daughter was born. Hubs barely made the birth. Thanks in advance for the answers and time you have taken to reply

Yes it is possible to have a contraction and not know it. But if you dont know than it is no were near time for the hospital. How much longer do you have. You usually have lose stool before hand not constipated. You should try drinking water if you are dehydrated you cant have some false labor. Also get up and walk around if it does not get worse than you are fine if it does good luck hope all is well. I am also on my fourth...

I don't have any experience with this, but it is definitely better to be safe than sorry and go get checked. A friend of mine didn't make it to the hospital because she did not realize she was in labor until it was too late (it was her second). She did not feel like she was having contractions. Luckily they had enough time to call the paramedics and she delivered the baby in her kitchen just minutes after the paramedics arrived. Best of luck to you!
