Can you loose the mucus plug and there not be blood in it?

I was just curious if any one has lost all of the mucus plug and never saw blood?  I have been loosing it for a while and its only been yellow, white, and clear.  Just a curious question.  Anita

I'm not too sure either...I just know when I started losing mine it was a lot of mucus tinged with blood and I was also spotting a bit as well. My mom, right before she went into labor, had some spotting and maybe an hour before she had my sister, her entire plug came out in one huge glob...it was kinda gross, lol, I was 13 and she showed me!! I don't think there was any blood in it, but there could have been a tiny bit.

It was a week I think, I had been loosing my plug for weeks though. I lost the last part of it at 38 weeks and had Noah at 39 weeks.

How long did it take for you to go into labor after you lost it?

i had back pain and pressure like you are having and thought i had lost my plug as 2 days i lost chunks of it (thick clearish gelatin like). But then a few days later i had the bloody show and there was tons and tons of mucas and blood. The first time i went to l&d cause of the pressure they admitted me saying i would have th e baby by the next morning...nope 3 days later i had been up all night iwth back and pressure, got admitted again finally had full bloody show that night....induced on 3 days later didn't work, induced the next day didn't work but they broke my water and i had him 3 hours later

Not sure, mine was clear or yellow until I lost the last bit and then it was streaked with blood. When the last bit of it came out it was about 4 inches long.
