Castor oil

I was thinking of taking castor oil in orange juice or pineapple juice..  Has anyone had success with taking it? How soon did labor start?

Of all things to induce labor castor oil is the worst. How it works is that it dehydrates your body (which is why it is said to cause contractions). Of course it also causes diarrhea not only in you but the baby (which can be harmful) and it can also cause vomiting in yourself. Even if it did cause you to go into labor (which with all things is no guarantee) labor is hard and gross enough you don't want to have to deal with the vomiting and diarrhea on top of it all. Imo it's best to stay away from it and talk to your Dr if you plan on trying anything to induce yourself (other than the normal sex and walking)
