Cervix....

Ok I'm a ftm so all of this is confusing to me...please help... Ok I know that contractions mean that the baby is moving down and preparing to come out... But what is the cervix is that what holds your water or is the cervix like your placenta thinning?? Someone please explain... I don't wanna ask my doctor cause he looks at me like I'm a moron when I ask him these kinda things...

Your cervix is the pathway from your vagina to your uterus.

You have your outer genetalia (labia majora and minora, clitoris) and then the vagina (internal) which leads up to the cervix, then the uterus. Inside the uterus is the amniotic sac.

Ohhh ok and the "water" is from the amniotic sack then?

Yes, the amniotic sac is what holds the fluid and baby
