I think I can feel my cervix dilating?

Ok, I'm 4 days past my due date, the doctor checked my cervix a week ago and I was only dilated to 1cm, but the past few days I've felt this slightly painful stretching feeling down there, and I'm wondering if its possible to feel your cervix dilate or efface? I haven't checked myself by using a finger, I'm kinda worried about doing that, but its just this strange feeling of stretching or something.. I have an appointment tomorrow to be checked, and if I'm dilated and effaced more than last week I'll be induced... But I'm just curious.

Well the doc decided to induce me last thursday, and by friday my contractions were to strong and I was only dilated 6cm, and with every contraction her heartrate would drop. So they did an emergency c-section, and turns out her cord was wrapped twice around her leg cutting off circulation.. :(
But now I have my beautiful baby girl Chloe Leigh, born friday at 1:19 weighing 5 lbs 15 oz, and 19 1/2 inches long! :D

I've been having a lot of contractions, backache, and lower pelvic pressure for the past 2 weeks.. I'd thought I would have been more dilated last week. Oh well, guess I'll find out tomorrow afternoon. I sure hope I'm dilated and effaced enough to be induced.. I am so ready to have this baby!

I never did personally. I don't think you do. I just felt intense pain in my back and after 10 hours I had dilated 3-4cm's
