Cold medicine

I am 5 1/2 weeks pregnant and I am getting a cold, I was wondering if any of you knew what is safe to take. I like to take dayquil and nyquil for my colds, is that ok for the baby?

Hmmmm I think it depends on your dr..... I had a bad cold when i was about 6 weeks (9 weeks now) and the dr told me not to take anything but regular old tylenol.... I dont think they like you taking very much within the first trimester! I would def call your dr to see what he says!

Call the pharmacist they'll know just as much as your ob and you can probably get in touch with them quicker...but I'd stay away from the dayquil and nightquil.  Good luck!
