All Tylenol products are safe and like Wendy said, Sudafed.  I don't know that you can only take 1 kind of Sudafed though.  I have never asked my doc because I have never taken it.  He just told me once that Sudafed was fine.  Anway, you may want to try using a cool mist humidifier.  Keep your body elevated.  I know that you can take Zyrtec and Claritin, BUT I am not sure if you can take it first trimester or not.  I think you can but check w/ your doc.  I have taken it w/ my 2nd and 3rd trimesters in previous pregnancies.  It's way better than Tylenol so I would def ask.  Even though you haven't seen your doctor yet, you should still be able to call them and they should still be able to give you medical advice for a cold.  In all honesty, you may need an antibiotic.  I did this last time.  But also keep in mind that you can also go see your regular doc for a cold.  It does not have to be your OB.  Infact, my OB wants me to go see my regular doc for sickness (unless I already have an appt. scheduled w/ him).  But if I get sick between appts., I go see my regular doc.

Good luck!  It is just awful being sick while pregnant!!!

I was sick a lot when I was pregnant with my daughter (colds here and there... a fun ear infection near the end) and my OB gave me the "ok" for the same stuff that chantal mentioned.  He also told me I could take Sudafed, BUT if you do, make sure you specifically look for just plain old Sudafed (not Sudafed PE or any of the other ones)... and if your pharmacy is like mine, you won't find the regular Sudafed on the shelves anymore... they actually have to keep it behind the counter (you have to ask for it) b/c of some new law passed (there is a key ingrediant in regular Sudafed that was being used by meth dealers/makers, so they moved it "out of reach" behind the counter).  I only mention this b/c I think the other forms of Sudafed aren't recommended during pregnancy... there is a slight difference in the other varieties.  Just wanted to pass that along... of course for me, Sudafed is useless anyway.  =(

Good luck... it really does stink to be sick while pregnant.

Congrats! I'm sorry you are feeling so icky. It's no fun being sick. With my son I was sick with colds off and on and had morning sickness until 22 weeks. When I first found out, I had what felt like the flu...I was achy, had chills and a constant runny nose. I was miserable! I asked my doc what I could take and I took tylenol, benadryl, and used vicks and cough drops when I needed them. Other than that, I just stuck it out. I'm sure if it continues they can tell you what can take to help relieve it. I hope you feel better soon!!
