Confused??....
Okay so I live in Georgia, I work at a hospital, and I'm 34 weeks pregnant. I want to go ahead and go on maternity leave mainly because I am beyond exhausted and I just want a few weeks to myself to finish getting ready for baby before she gets here. My manager told me that he needs a note from my doctor saying that I'm going on maternity leave before he'll take me off the schedule, so I called my doctor's office and explained that to the receptionist but she said, "we don't give out maternity leave papers or any kind of letters to give to your employer until after you have the baby and get ready to return back to work".
So I'm completely confused right now on what to do. Anyone have any suggestions or have dealt with this before?

Do you have an HR department? Normally you schedule your leave with them a few weeks prior to when you want to take it.
I got a MATb form from my midwife and handed that into my employer when i went on maternity leave
Well that's what I thought, but apparently my manager doesn't know that and needs more "proof" that I'm going on maternity leave and not just quitting. Ugh I don't know what to do now. I was hoping that Friday would be my last day.
