Miralax is safe to take while pregnant.
I started eating a bowl of oat meal every morning and by the second day I was regular again.
I ate a ton of fruit too. Two peaches or nectarines for breakfast, pear and plum with lunch and apple with dinner and even snacks throughout the day.
Lots of fiber (I personally love granola bars for this purpose), drinking a lot of water, and if you are REALLY constipated then take a stool softener.
Seriously, eat a Fiber One bar. I grabbed a box of these at Costco once, just thinking they were regular snacky type bars (like a Nutrigrain bar), and these things worked like a roto rooter. Give it a try - can't hurt. If it gets really bad, ask the doctor if you can take a stool softener pill each day.
Apple and pickle juice are good at helping to clear you out as well too, though apple juice doesn't always work on everyone. My fiancé can down gallons of it with no effect. If nothing works, you can speak to your doctor and they could prescribe something that will help.
That's all I drink is water...I eat strawberries..and have tried the prunes in the past few weeks...nothing is working.
drink plenty of water.... strawberries are a natural laxative..... prunes and prune juice
Thanks for the comment. I have been doing all of those things...I always eat that way..but nothing seems to be working. I am exercising regularly too. Any other suggestions?
Everything tends to get a bit sluggish during pregnancy, but staying hydrated and drinking lots of water helps. Also eating extra fiber (whether it be the leafy green vegetables or fiber bars, etc). Also, fruits and fruit juices might get things rolling. Keep active too!
