Contractions?

Well this is my first and I was just wondering if it was possible to have real contractions that don't actually turn into labor or if they are still considered Braxton hicks? I know Braxton hicks are not supposed to increase with walking but it seems like everytime I am walking for awhile I start to get pretty painful contractions, they are usually pretty close together but then stop when I sit down and take a break. This has been happening for about a week... Since I really know nothing about what to expect I was just wondering if these are just BHC or if they are the real deal (just not ever turning into anything)

And i wasnt saying that either.  I was simply saying that the difference was if it made you dilate or not.  Some people say that BH arent true contractions and i was just pointing out that they are.

A contraction is still a contraction.  The only difference is if it causing you to dilate.  If not, its called Braxton Hicks.

No real contractions are just that...they are real and progress into labour... and because the contractions do stop that means they are BH... to rule out true labour contractions your are supposed to do the opposite of what you were doing when they started... if your resting and you feel them then get up and move around and they should subside... if you are walking or are being active when you rest they should subside... true labour contractions get closer, stronger and follow a rythm and do not stop when you stop your activity... i know when im driving the BH are more apparent, when i have to pee, and if i very active...

They're braxton Hicks. I have the same problem. When I walk for a while I start getting awful braxton Hicks, but they go away when I sit down.
