Yes you can stop them by having a warm bath with Epsom salts. It relaxes your muscles. But only do this if its preterm labour. Otherwise just let it roll naturally and seek different more comfortable positions to help you handle the pain. A dark room might also help your body to produce the natural pain killer it has for labour.
Unfortunately not. They only get worse the further into labour you get.
If they are real contractions there is nothing that will stop them. If they are Braxton hicks try taking a short warm bath, walking, laying down, drinking lots of water ( dehydration causes Braxton hicks sometimes)
