I had that too. Contractions that weren't painful but slowly started to get closer together until they were 2 mins apart. I went to get checked and I was still at 2 cm (had been for a while) but had effaced almost to 100%. So the non-painful contractions I was feeling was effacement. The painful ones caused dilation. So in my experience, I would wait until you feel more of the period-type cramping. But its always good to go in and see anyways. Good luck hun!!
Yeah I think it is labor. I am resting and timing them. They are 9 min apart but still not painful just uncomfortable. When they get to be about 5 i am going to go to the hospital... even if its just to get checked out i dont mind... Thanks ladies!!!
My OB told me that if pain/cramping continues even after laying down that I'd need to come in to the doctor because it could be labor. (preterm for me) but she said if it stops when laying down that it's just normal ligament pains and stuff. You sound like it's maybe labor!
Sounds like things could be getting started. I would just keep timing them. If they are real contractions....they will get closer and you will know! I started to experience contractions 2 days before I went into labor....at first they were 15- 20 min apart...then 5-10 min, apart and then finally they were 2-3 min apart. Took 3 days for active labor to start for me. I was 38w 1d when I gave birth. Could be soon for you! If you are up to it....go for a walk..that will encourage things to move along!
I get them about every 10 min when im laying down but then if i stand up or move i get another one...
How often do you experience the pains? Does your entire belly get hard when it happens? I would time them and see. It could just be added pressure from the baby moving down or it could be things getting ready!!
