I agree w/ zakanunu with sharing w/ your hubby so he can be apart of the experience even from far away.  There are many websites out there that give week by week updates on what your body and the baby is doing.  It's pretty neat, so maybe you can sign up for one of those and they will send you weekly e-mails.   You can even invite the father to be or you could just forward him your e-mails but it would be neat and give him something to look forward to every week.

This same thing happened to a co-worker of mine.  He and his wife had just found out they were pregnant and he was very reluctant to have kids at all.  Right after they found out, he got his orders to go to Iraq for a year.  He missed most of the pregnancy and the birth and all for his first child, but he is a great father and just adores his little girl sooooo much!!!  He's like "What the heck was I waiting for"??

Best of luck and remember we are all here for you!

Congratulations, this is wonderful news. I wish you all the best.  Its not to early to make an appointment.  Like JoyRenee says, the Dr will confirm your pregnancy and then schedule your appointmen for week 8-12.  It is so exciting.

Enjoy the pregnancy and remember that you are not alone even though your hubby is in Iraq. You have all the wonderful peeps here on Medhelp and your Dr, is always just a phone call a way.  Keep mailing your hubby and keep him posted everyday if you can or atleast once a week, this way he will be in touch with your pregnancy at least and you will feel happy to share your experiences with him.

CONGRATS!

First step is to call your doctor to set up an appointment. They may want to verify you're pregnant by a urine test in their office. Then they'll set you up for first prenatal visit around week 8-12.

Don't stop going to the gym but definitely drink more water (!) and moderate your exercise a lot. No high impact workouts/sports/weights. Walking, swimming, using a treadmill or cycling is usually fine (heart rate cannot go above 140 bpm). Just listen to your body and stop when it tells you.

Congrats!!! Making an appointment this early is fine. They will want to confirm it at the clinic and then schedule you. Some doctors wont see you untill you are 8-10 weeks though, so be prepared to wait:)
Congrats again and wishing you a happy and healthy nine months!!
