detached uterus

My daughter had a baby 6 weeks ago.  She was in labor for 9 hrs. and was completely dialated and effaced.  She pushed for almost 2 hours, but the baby was hung on the pelvic bone and would not drop.  She had a c-section during which she lost 600 cc of blood.  Afterwards, one of the doctors said her uterus detached while she was pushing so hard.  Today she went to another dotor in the practice that said she never heard of a detached uterus.  Can someone tell me if there is such a thing as a detached uterus?

Maybe look for prolapsed uterus.  I think what happens is the uterus detaches and comes out of the vagina.  It sounds really gross but maybe look up information on it and you can see if this is what happened to your daughter.

Thank you for your help.  The baby is doing well, just a normal 7 week old that cries more than my daughter would like sometimes, but she is a sweetie.  One of the doctors from the hospital called her and said there wasn't any record of a detached uterus, and everything seems fine.  I hope so, but I guess we'll never know.

I have never heard of this but you may want to try MayoClinic's website they have a huge list of everything and risks, treatments and so on. I'm not a medical dr so me not knowing about it isn't surprising. None of us on here is a medical dr. If this is concerning to her than I would suggest she seeks another drs opinion. Good luck
