I was on the pill at 16 and got pregnant. I had been on it for 3.5 years (due to heavy periods) and I ended up getting a super bad case of bronchitus and pnemonia and was coughing up blood and bed ridden for 3 weeks. I was on the antibiotics (super strong) for over 2 months and didn't find out until I was 12 weeks along. I now know that antibiotics can mess your bcps up but then my doctor didn't bother to tell me even when I told them I was on bcps they never told me that it could mess it up. I have told everyone since then about it!
Nope. We don't use protection beyond condoms and even then we don't always use them. We're a lot more laid back about conception and we know that if it happens it will happen and we'll be blessed.
But I do know people who've been on the pill and have gotten pregnant.
I was taking the pill for 2 years, missed no pills- took them the same time every night. I am now 6 weeks pregnant. Big shock to me. My u/s lady told me that tylenol sinus and cough syrup as well as other things can weaken the pill since the hormones in it can be so low anyways. Basically, nobody is safe with anything unless they have no sex. There are always risks.
Most forms of birth control have a failure rate of about 2%.
Most people that want to get pregnant do not use birth control.
My husband was conceived while his mom was on the pill.
i've never had that issue...our boys were planned but my mom got pregnant with my brother while on b/c (the sponge....not sure if it's still around) and my brothers now exgf is just about due with their baby and she got pregnant while using nuva ring.
The first time I had a miscarriage we concieved with a condom (it broke). My family is also very fertile, my next two pregnancies where the first time we tried. 3 for 3, but 2 angel babies.
I don't have any first hand experience, but my mom got pregnant with my brother while she was on the pill and they used a condom. The women in my family are extremely fertile.
