Drink loads of water so your pee is.diluted andess acidic..so it stings less.. pour warm water over your lady parts whilst you wee and lean forward. Lots of.breast pads..and lots of maternity pads.. black underwear.. black pjs.. I had pink.ones.for.hospital...bad idea... Covered.in.blood. if you have stitches etc don't use.shower gel.or bubble bath can.cause infection. Salt in bath helps heal you though. Sleep when baby sleeps as its exhausting in the early days...oh and the first poo.is.scary..your bowels.close for a while after labor..because of all.the pressure of.pushing baby out...well when you.go to poop it feels scary like you're gonna push another baby out. Once you relax its fine!!

With my first i bleed so much it hurt so bad to pee but i would use a warm wash cloth pressed on my vajj to stop the sting which was amazing.  The pain from my epi haunted me forever i always had dreams about it lol weird i kno. If the offer epi foam n witch hazel pads use them and ask for tons to take home that stuff made me feel lots better also that lil squirt bottle too. : ) Good luck ftm

After you give birth, ask your nurse for stool softners.  It isn't a laxative, but it will help by softening things up for you!!  and yes.... USE the bottle!!!

Bleeding was more than I expected, I had an episiotomy so an icepack the first 24 hours helped with swelling.  I felt like my whole bottom area was gonna fall off everytime I got up.  Use your sitz bath and your water bottle.  I have had terrible constipation due to my iron and pain meds they gave me.  Wish I would have known the pain meds cause constipation.  If you get hemmroids be sure to buy a donut to sit on to relieve pressure.  These are all things I didn't find out till a week and a half later to do to ease some pain.  Wish the hospital staff would have suggested these before discharge...

That you bleed ALOT. I knew I would bleed but I was a lot more then I thought there would be. That wiping hurt so i recommend those Charmin flushable wipes. After baby is born cover baby's butt in vasiline makes it easier to clean up the first tar poop.

The first time I peed it looked like someone was murdered. It hurts like hell to cough if you have a csection. If you don't have a bowel movement for awhile be proactive don't wait lol big mistake I made very embarrassing

The bleeding at least for me was not as bad as I'd worried. Use the water squirt bottle they give you don't be afraid of it! Eat lots of fiber/fresh food and poo is easy. Don't feel bad if you lay in bed all day and sleep or shower at 3pm! Boob leaks happen be prepared! It's ok to call your mom or doc at any hour no one expects you to know it all. If you're bf the pump is your friend use it or you will hurt! I might think of more lol....
