Positive pregnancy test 8 weeks after dnc

I had a dnc done on June 21, 2010. I was 14 weeks gestastion and the baby only measured 9 weeks. It is now August 15, about 8 weeks after the dnc and still no period. I had cramping and spotting about a week ago, so I decided to take a home pregnancy test, it showed a positive result. A couple of days later, I went to a clinic where they do pregnancy tests also and it showed a positive result. So now I have to make an appointment. Could I really be preganat or is my hcg levels still up?

i had almost the same thing got pregnant right after a m/c and he is a healthy active 8 month old baby
