Displeased

I had my 19 week ultrasound on the 26th, it took them over an hour to get my babys gender, i was uncomfortable the whole time. When they finally got the gender, they didnt tell me. When I asked they told me my doctor would tell me at my next appointment... with my other two i was told right away. Has anyone else had this problem?

In some places, technicians aren't allowed to reveal any information, so the information is passed on to the doctors to review beforehand. This is not unusual or uncommon. I'm sure the technician was just following the rules. Also, you do understand that the anatomy ultrasound is not solely based on finding out the gender right? They have to check everything out to make sure things are developing properly. Your baby may have been the uncooperative one if they were having trouble getting a good look at the genitalia. It's not always the technicians fault. At least they tried. Some techs will give up after a while and you're left with not knowing the gender at all or til you get another ultrasound.
