When you push, you will push with everything you've got. "only pelvic muscles" is hilarious. No, you'll push like you haven't pooped in a week, with every muscle of your body straining with the effort. Breathing will get you through most of labor just fine - and you still need to breathe effectively during the pushing stage - but you can't breathe out a baby. It's still a big head and a little hole, it's not quite that easy. That's how it was for my birth experience, anyway... YMMV. Good luck!
