Dental X-rays in third trimester

I am 36w3d and I need to have dental work done. I have three broken teeth and I would just leave them until after baby girl is born but one of them is super painful so it needs pulled. Anyways I called to get an appointment and they said they would have to do X-rays to see if there is an infection in the tooth. What are your thoughts about X-rays in the third trimester? I am definitely going to try to see if they can not do them but it doesn't seem like an option and the tooth needs pulled.

Should be okay, as long as they cover your stomach with on of the iron blankets. I just had a cat scan and I'm 29 weeks. Dr said baby would be fine.

Thanks ladies.

Rock Rose- growing up I never went to the dentist because we could afford it and my teeth got pretty messed up. At least I'm getting them taken care of now.

The led blankets will protect you and the baby, but if you need a tooth out you need to get that done ASAP because if you don't get it taken care of infection can go in your bloodstream and not only harm the baby but it can kill you

Make them put two covers over you. I'm 7 months with a broken ankle, I have had a ton of x rays. My OB said it's fine.

Three broken teeth is a LOT for such a young woman.  Do they know why your teeth keep breaking?

What does your dentist say about the precautions they use for pregnant women?

I asked the nurses that you call for questions at my doctor's office and they said I can do it but it isn't recommended. Idk what to do because I need this tooth out but I definitely don't want to hurt my little girl.

You might want to ask your OB about this,  Shirano.

As far as I understand it,  the very worst time to have xrays is early when the baby is still forming arm and leg buds but this is really a question for your OB.
