Did I have a miscarriage?

Hi,

My husband and I tried for a baby last month. Towards the end of my 28 day cycle, I felt tenderness in my breasts, my period was late and I also had frequent clear discharges from which I assumed I was pregnant.

However, on the 31st day after my last period, I started to bleed brownish colored blood containing small brownish matter/bits which I then assumed was implantation bleeding. This was accompanied by moderate cramps.

But the bleeding continued and it started to be like my normal period i.e. reddish blood with discharge and the cramps continued.

So now I am certain that I am not pregnant, however did I just have a miscarriage or was it my period? Is it safe to try again in the next cycle or should I visit a doctor for advice?

Thank you.

If you were in deed pregnant that would be considered a chemical pregnancy, If i were you i would go see a dr just in case, and you can TTC right away. best of luck to you

It could have been a miscarriage or your period. It's hard to tell. If it would make you feel better knowing you can ask for a bloodtest to check for the pregnancy hormone however because it was so early if it was a miscarriage you should be fine to try again your next cycle with no issues. Tere is a myth that you should wait 2-3 cycles before ttc again but it is just a myth it's only true if you have a D&C which you didn't.

Good luck I hope your next cycle is successful.
