I got my hours cut from 30 hrs a.week to 4 hrs a week after the owner found out I was pregnant!!!!..totally illigal.but I cant get a straight answer anywhere of what 2 do!!!its so.messed up
Ive had several interviews where as soon as they saw me I could tell by the look they gave me I wasn't getting the job :/
I got called in for a few interviews after submitting my resume. I'm a nurse btw. And the doctors and a couple managers just straight up told me they will not be hiring me. and I should of told them I was expecting so they wouldn't of wasted the be time interviewing me blah blah blah. I was sooo upset!!!
I used to work for a pharmacy and i would to everything like clean and pills and front desk and all the dutys i didnt mind more hours for me when they found out i was pregnant they just told me they had seniority plans and i would have to be laid off n they did i was so upset but in the end the guy behind me was stuck with my dutys and now they r going ceazy looking for ppl and they can hire as fast because u have to be certified i just laugh now but its really messed up :/
Alot of places won't hire or keep pregnant woman because they don't wanna have to be responsible if anything were to happen to you that can affect the Baby. Like if you injured yourself on the job they're not only responsible for taking care of you but also the baby. It's understandable but of course it makes us pregnant ladies feel bad lol it's happened to me & I cried because of it. But later on I understood why they do that.
Its very hard to sue for discrimination especially if youre in a fire at will state. And they are not obligated to hire pregnant women especially if a non pregnant person gets the job bc if theres physical demands then yes the other person was more qualified at the time. It ***** but im lucky enough bf makes enough I dont have to work.
It is actually very hard to sue for pregnancy discrimination. You would have to be able to prove you weren't fired or not hired for no other reason than your pregnancy. If they can produce another viable reason your case would be dismissed. Pregnant women do not have enough protection in the states. It's why I won't vote for a candidate who doesn't support protections for workers.
That's happened to me a lot. And I have full availability. One lady even tried telling me she didn't remember speaking to anyone on the phone, she conveniently remembered when I showed her the call log on my cell phone.
She said my availability wouldn't work, there's no way to prove she said working two days would be okay

Gotta love that bs! I got fired because they found out I was pregnant. Told me they didnt have anymore hours to give me when I was the only one in my department and they hired about 20 more people and are still hiring..
Yeah some people wont hire due to them having to give u time off in the end. It stupid but it happend im sorry mommy
