what happens at 40 week appointment?
ok so Thursday is my im thinking last and 40 week appointment and im just wondering if it'll be any different. I know they will check for dilation ( which I am not yet, just effaced) but will they have me schedule an induction date? will they do a non stress test? anything else?

Oh wow! Then they will most likely schedule you for an induction :-) congrats! I know how exciting it is! My only advise is eat before you get admitted! I didn't and as soon as I was in my room they wouldn't let. Best if luck! You'll have you baby girl soon :-)
awesome, itd be nice to know either way the absolute latest ill have to wait. @lilmissbecki, where your first two over due or have all your pregancys gone over 40 weeks?
They will most def schedule u a induction date thats what they did for me.....they will also check u for dilation
I had my 40 weeks appointment yesterday. Was due Monday, she didn't check for dilation or anything. Im scheduled for a sweep on 23rd then if that don't work they'll induce me 27th. I'll be 11days overdue by then so pretty annoyed at minute. This is my 3rd and im totally fed up :'( x
im hoping for both of us that they do! lol at my 39 week appointment I was 90 percent effaced but not dilated at all!
I had my 39 week appt today & I'm still 0 & still not effaced so I'm praying they schedule my inductions at my last appt!
aw thank you! haha I will definitely be eating before hand if I end up having to get induced! I'm still crossing my fingers for her to come before hand though :)
oh ok, ya I was just curious because last appointment they told me they won't let me go past 41 weeks so I know this has to be my last appointment right? lol so far I've had no complications but I am carrying a big baby, shes estimated around 9lbs!
And the appointment was regular at 40 weeks. Bp, weight, heart beat, and any questions about the hospital/procedures.
It depends. If there are any complications or are worried about the size of.the baby, they probably will schedule an induction or send you right over. For me, they scheduled another appointment in my 41st week and was induced by my 42nd. I was 3cm and 80% effaced for weeks!
