I was told that the measurements were good but my blood test came back with a higher risk. What they didn't clairfy was that the measurement put my risk at 1 in 2056 and my blood test changed that to 1 in 810. The average for someone my age to start with was 1 in 450. So many people get them back saying that the chances are higher and it doesn't change that it is still your baby and you are still going to love them no matter what.
I did for both of my boys. My cousin was positive for DS with her two as well. All four kids perfectly fine. Alot of DS tests come back as a false positive. If you get a positive for DS your doc may want to do an amniocentesis for further testing. He'll stick a needle into your belly to extract amniotic fluid. But this can cause pregnancy loss. Personally I think it's wise not to get the amniocentesis because false positives are so common. You won't love your baby any less if he/she is born with DS. But if something goes wrong during the amniocentesis and you lose the baby and find out nothing was wrong, you'll never forgive yourself. Docs can tell after the baby is born.
I did they sent me to the highrisk clinic for further testing and it ended up being twins total shocker
