Driving while in labor

Anybody do this? Cause I'm afraid that when I'm in labor my hubby won't be there since he works 2 jobs. My family basically kicked me out of the family so I can't call any of them & I have no close friends. My hubby tells me that I need to make a new friend with a car just incase he can't be there in time but I don't feel the need for Friends. They're trouble. So I wanna just drive my car to the er.... Is it safe?

If you have any kind of medicaid or accchs or whatever you should be able to get a free emergency cab to the hospital

I work as an insurance biller, I wouldn't suggest calling an ambulance unless it's the very last resort. You will definitely have a hefty bill, and labor and delivery is already thousands of dollars. I would talk to a neighbor and let them know a situation. You don't necessarily have to be friends with them. Ask if in an emergency they will take you. How far along are you?

Just a warning, if you live in the u.s. they will bill you  so much for an ambulance! Debt worthy bill, I'd say attempt a taxi or like your man said, try to make a new friend?

Hmm.. maybe you can call the ambulance. Contractions can be bad depending on how you handle them.

I had a friend that drove herself with her last baby. With every contraction she slammed on brakes literally (she say). It caused the police to stop her. When they found out she was in labor they escorted her. (We live five hours away) otherwise I would have driven her

You're freaking me out. I don't know about this. Just make sure you have someone with you please. Your neighbour perhaps ? Or just call the hospital and they'll send an ambulance. Take care x

I would say I think it depends on how bad the contractions and everything is I think it would just be safer to call for an ambulance so they can help you as we'll.
