When you start feeling your contraction. Count how long it is til it stops. When your next contraction starts, how far apart it is is how long since the previous contraction started, not stopped. Ie you have a contraction that lasts 30 secs, four mins after it stops you have another so your contractions are 4.5 mins apart. There is is a decent app on the android store called contraction timer lite that calculates it all for you, all you do is hit the big green button when it starts and again when finishes. It calculates how many you've had, how long, how far apart etc, that's what i used x

Yes you time it from when it starts to when it ends and you also have to time and see how often you get them. So when one stops start timing to see how long it takes to get another

When you start feeling the contraction you start counting then stop when it goes away, that is how long your contraction lasts.  Then to time how far apart they are you start when the firt contraction started, to when the next one starts, so say you had a contraction that lasted 30 seconds, then there was t min from the end of that one, your contractions would be 5 min and 30 seconds apart and 30 seconds long.

I think u time from the moment ur contraction ends until another one starts. The time u get from that if it gets closer and stays the same for awhile....such as 5mins apart for an hour or so, then possibly ur having a baby soon. I think thats how u do it lol
