I said yes. I got Marissa's ears pierced when she was 5mths. I actually did it while she had an ear infection. My Aunt who is a Paramedic suggested to do so since she would be on antibiotics. They have worked out wonderfully so far she is 13mths. My oldest got hers when she was 15mths we had some issues with hers...
Well, many people do it with success and have no problems. But for most that don't think it should be done, I can def see there are genuine concerns such as the choking hazards, etc.
So, I have 4 daughters and have never had it done. I won't either. I will wait until they express their desire to have it done. I got mine done when I was like 7 and wanted to have it done. I think I had to beg because my dad was very strict about those things. But my mom worked on him and I got it done without any problems.
It is IMPOSSIBLE for an infant to look skanky. That just isn't possible. I can honestly say that I have never heard that before.......
jenkaye21- I agree with you 100% I think it looks very age-inaproppriate.
Ive never seen any infant with ear pierced look funny later on in their life. Looks like whoever you are referring to did not go to the right person to pierce their infants ears.
Totally think that infants should get their ears pierced. Their choice? You are the parent and they are a few days old. LOL! You make the choice. If they do not like it(which I highly doubt because little girls always want their ears pierced) they can take it out later on. I do not know one baby girl that doesnt have their ears pierced. It seems hilarious to me that others disagree, with all due respect. LOL!
tiredbuthappy- That is why I said I would go with the earrings where the backs screw on, I read about Maddies ears and that is very scary. If the backs screw on it is near impossible for the baby to get them off.
I also agree that is is wrong to say that a baby looks tacky or skanky for having her ears pierced, not nice.
