Early Labor

So today I went in again bout lower abdominal pain. Glad I did! They put the fetal heartbeat and contraction machine on me. I'm 33 weeks today. Doctor said that baby isn't reacting the way she wants to see. I told her bout how my discharge had changed at the beginning of the week--- I had posted on here bout it.. She said that it sounds like it was my plug. She decided to check me and do a test to check for preterm labor. Turns out I STILL have a Blatter infection. Has been a month and now I have a yeast infection which would have just started.
I was getting more and more contractions while I was there- which wasn't why I went in. She also said that my doctor didnt say in her note  if I was dilating the week before. But I am now dilated some today. I got transferred to the OB for them to watch me better and to wait for the early labor test to come back. When results finally came back they were positive for early labor and by that time contractions were stronger and more of them. But baby started moving a storm once I got moved to OB. She has now put me on a pill to stop contractions that I have to take every 6 hours! Sigh.... I'm now at my moms and went to the bathroom-- pretty sure if I didn't lose my plug earlier this week, I just did!

Earlier this week was just a clear snotty looking. Tonight is was reddish thicker snot looking..

What do you think? Did I just lose it? Should I call doctor in morning?? When did you lose yours?? And has anyone been in early labor??

I would check with her on the specifics on how dilated you are, how thinned out you are, etc. Have them check your cervical length as its not a common thing they check for but had they not looked at mine they wouldn't have known mine was short and its rare to be as short as mine was. Which is now nonexistent in length. No you are not for sure going into labor in 2 weeks. The test basically goes like this: a negative is the best outcome you can get for that ffn because a negative states that you are 97% unlikely to go into labor in 2 weeks. But a positive test result only means that you do have some of that glue like stuff leaking, which is an early indication of labor usually, but a matter of how soon or how accurate the test is is another story. A positive doesn't state that yes 97% chance of labor in 2 weeks, it doesn't say that and can't say that. It just shows your doctor that you'll need to be watched more closely as the positive indicates its a possibility labor could happen in two weeks but not sure how likely or what the odds are. Althought at 26 weeks I got a positive for that ffn, and 6 weeks later I'm still pregnant...so it doesn't really mean much to the Dr for you to have a positive it just give them more info on what is going on internally if you are somewhat leaking that fluid. If you've been consistently have cramping pressure and contractions and pain and possibly even bleeding then you could have dilated. I would contact your Dr to give them a heads up on what you're still experiencing and see what they say. Also ask about getting a steroid shot for the baby's lungs, tell them you're worried if you were to give birth now that it would be preterm and you want to know what all they do for preterm labor, to slow it down or stop it, or health concerns for baby to be born at your gestational age. My Dr had me give a two day series of steroid shots basically one shot 24 hours apart from the next, and weeks later I had to get it again cause they felt I was going into labor they also put me on magnesium for twenty hours. Just check with them on preventative health stuff along with their game plan. Are you considered high risk now?

Yes to the FNN- couldn't remember what it was called and no they didn't tell me any of that.. She did check my cervix. Don't think she said how open it was. But I was completely closed last week. I did not get a shot... I have an appointment this coming week with my doctor. I only went in because of the lower pain that I guess is caused by a Blatter and yeast infection. She was going to do an ultrasound until he finally decided to give her the reaction she wanted. Heartbeat increase with movement- he was barely moving when got there and for bout 2 1/2 hours..

So I could go into actually labor possibly within the next 2 weeks??

Could I be dilated even more now since what I lost was quite a bit??

Also i lost my mucus plug some time before 26 weeks, and have been in preterm labor since 26 weeks (32 weeks today). It sounds like preterm labor to me, at least because I had a lot of the same symptoms. They sent you home? The test you said they did that you got a positive on, was that a fetal fibronectin test (FFN)? If you got a positive did they tell you it doesn't mean yes you are going to go into labor it just means you have a slight likelihood of being capable of going into labor in the next two weeks, just because the test detects for the "glue-like" substance that keeps the placenta attached to the uterine wall and you slowly start losing this substance when you're on your way to delivery. The positive is not certain of anything though as I got a positive and have been pregnant another 6 weeks. Did they check your cervical length? Are you effaced also? And did they do an ultrasound? Also they should have given you a steroid shot to mature the baby's lungs, did they give you one? It's just in case you go into preterm labor.

Call your doctor, never let something go without telling your doctor when its a change or something different than what you've become used to during the majority of your pregnancy.

I want to meet my little man too but only if he's healthy and completely ready!

I will be calling doctor in morning. Since had that bloody show and because it seems as though I have had a couple contractions again in the last hour or so. I'm suppose to be taking that pill to stop contractions and I can't take another one yet. Don't remember if she said they will start up again before its time for another pill or not.

Isn't it too early to be losing the plug and dilating? This will be my second baby but still seems to early.

I guess my body was more attempting early labor.. Does losing the plug this early give a sign that I'm gunna go into full blown early labor??
