Elevated white blood count?

Has anyone else been told that they had an elevated white blood count? Is this normal during pregnancy?

They gave me pain medication to take the edge off of the contractions and back labor. It was amazing! I cannot recall the name though.. I was dehydrated and I do think I had kidney stones or an infection because i had terrible pain when trying to pee. It felt like I had to pee a lot and I only could go a little. I am feeling much better. I hope it doesn't return.

I have. My o/b had me go see my pcp and they sent me an infectious disease specialist. They did blood work and found absolutely nothing wrong with me. I havent been sick at all during my pregnancy.  He explained that some women wbc elevates simply because they are pregnant. Its a natural reaction because the baby is a foreign entity to the body, which is also a reason why women have morning sickness along with hormone imbalances. It will continue to rise till after you have the baby and will gradually go back to normal after a few weeks.

If you were rhesus negative the Dr tells you so dont worry about that at all. Your elevated white blood cell count is probably an infection or just your body fighting general coldsand such since our immyne systems are lower during pregnancy. Just dont have any unnecessary worries such as rhesus negative blood cells... Thats all to do with red blood cells anyway. Im rhesus negative so had to have it explained to me by midwives

Do u have Rh negative blood? If u have negative blood type and have a bleed then ur body can make antibodies against baby (if baby is rh positive) it wont effect the first pregnancy but u need and anti D injection to stop it effecting other pregnancies. Im blood type A negative and had my anti D yesterday at 28w
