What is the difference between Braxton Hicks contractions & real contractions? I'm having consistent pain but I won't be 36w for 2 more days... The pains is about 25 minutes apart at the moment...

My doctor told me that contractions start in your back and wrap around and wont calm down with either laying on your left side or with a glass of water. Braxton hicks will calm down with water and rest and they usually tend to just be down low in the front.

If you lay on your left side Braxton hicks will calm down but if they are real contractions they Will continue on strong! If you are very unsure you can always go to your local hospital and they can monitor you. Good luck mama

Braxton hicks won't have a pattern and usually aren't painful. Real contractions will develop a pattern and are usually painful.
