False labour

I had my 38 week appt yesterday and was 4 cm dialated  Later that evening i ended up having contractions 5-10 mins apart for about.5 hours and then they just died off . With my first i knew right away when i went into labour and never experienced false labour. So im wondering if any moms out there experienced false labour and when did u go into real labour?

emeely- i couldbt imagine for 3 weeks. Ive had regular bh and crampibg my whole pregnancy which is bad enough. I just lost my plug last night and been feeling nauseous and crampy all morning so hoping something happens soon!

danika0913 i hope u dont go on full bedrest. I was put on full bedrest at 30 weeks due to contractions and a shortening cervix and it sucked. Im finally off bedrest and never imagined id last this long but now im impatient and want him out. Good luck with your pregnancy and  hopefully ur contractions stop.

Im no where near 38 weeks Im only 25. I went to my ob yesterday for a normal appt and complained about the cramping and tightening i have been having for the last week. Apparently i am having false labor contractions. She said they weren't braxton hicks contractions they were actual contractions without dilation. My cervix is starting to thin out though. Im on a no sex or orgasm restriction. She said if it doesn't improve within 4weeks or i come in again before that then she is gonna have to put me on full bed rest. I really hope that doesn't happen. I just started the semester back up in college two weeks ago. With my son i got put on bed rest at 28weeks. I was hoping this baby would be different.

I hope so too! I'm past the point of ready!  Hope your LO comes soon as well! This waiting game *****!

3 weeks!!!! Don't think I could handle it for that long I hope she comes like now

I'm almost 39 weeks and have been having real contractions like you described everyday for the past 3 weeks. They always end up going away! Was actually in the hospital 2 weeks ago with contractions 4 mins apart, but again, they went away. I just keep hoping everytime I get them thatit's finally

No there real I've had BH since in my 20 weeks. Braxton hicks didn't hurt and they were irregular these are excruciating and regular

Are u having bh or real contractions? Ive had bh eceryday for the last week like all day long but last night was real contractions they just didnt intensify as they continued.... i hate false labour its soooo misleading!

I've been having false labor all weekend contractions are regular for about an hour then they stop for awhile so aggravating. This is my first.
