I saw the heart beat with a vag ultrasound @ 9 weeks 4 days and Friday went to my appointment and heard it with the Doppler @ 13 weeks.
Ohk I see.
Let me know how that Doppler works out .
My husband is a paramedic and they say their stethoscope should work when I'm like 4 months.
But just in case it doesn't.
:)
My first doctors appointment ( 6 weeks) I was able to see the heartbeat on the ultrasound and hear her heartbeat.
I've already had my US at 7 weeks. I bought a baby Doppler though and was hoping to be able to use it when I announce my prwgnancy on Easter! I'll be almost 10 weeks by then.
@Eli1122-I'm so sorry that happened to you. That breaks my heart knowing that some doctors could let that happen. :(
I don't trust dopplers now!
From experience and heartache.
My first pregnant ended up in a miscarriage ..
Here's what happened;
I went in for my first US and she used a Doppler.
She doesnt believe in regular US till after 20 weeks.
So she couldn't find the heartbeat, she kept sating its normal , they act stubborn.
Okay.
At 12 weeks I ended up in the ER with a miscarriage.
There were different perspectives of what could of happened.
First they said the baby's heartbeat probably stopped at 7 weeks because the sac was 7 weeks old.
But there was no fetus to begin with.
To me its still a miscarriage no matter how u see it but if I would of had the US earlier it would of saved me heartache.
If I were u, I'd ask for a regular US.
I heard mine at my first ultrasound, which was around 8 weeks. I worked for an OB/GYN, and the doctors there weren't concerned if there wasn't an audible heartbeat until around 15-16 weeks. By then, the baby's heart should be developed enough to be heard.
Midwife said it's hard to find a heart beat till after 16 week because the baby still small
I had my first ultrasound at 8 weeks n I was able to see the heartbeat, then I went back at 12 and was able to hear and see it..
My doctor says around 12 weeks but I went in last week at 10 and they were able to find it
