I too have the same problem.Dr said it's a blighted ovum.I had fibroid outside which grown 7cm in 12th week.
hi friends... I m back from the hospital after my d&e... despite the 24 hr stay at the hospital( which was mandatory as per my insurance company), the surgery was almost painless and quick..
I am taking rest@home for a few days until I resume my usual routine..
I admit that I am very low and depressed, and to add to it, my lower abdomen is still crampy and I have stinging pains since last night.. The doc said it would take a week for the uterus to contract back to the original size so the pains are allright.. !!
She however advised me to wait for 3 months before i ttc again.. 3 months is a lot!! just 3 days are difficult to go by...
hope I get the strength to feel better soon.. I am just turning to prayer..
For the fibroids.. yess, it is so scary.. I am going to take the next 3 months to try and treat mine..the ones inside the uterus are apparently very dangerous... While coming back from the hospital on sunday, I happened to have a look at the babies in the incubators.. and met with a lady who had delivered 2 days ago, twins at 26 weeks only.. and they were critical.. and the part which saddened me the most was that one of the babies was born with a fractured leg.. the reason being that the mother had a fibroid 'inside' the uterus which grew during pregnancy and the baby did not get space to grow, so it ended up with a fracture because of the weight of the fibroid!! :-(
It was so sad to see a 3 month premature baby with a plaster!! God! I am filled with depression.. why is life and birth so difficult and complicated for some!
sorry to be so negative.. m not trying to scare the expectant mothers.. but only trying to share what I experienced, so that all those who are ttc with fibroids can be more informed and careful..
I'm sorry about your impending loss... I have fibroids outside my uterus and they have even gotten to 4 cm. My doc said that it is perfectly fine for me to conceive because the blood supply has cut off all growth. U really need to seek medical advice maybe more than one doctor because each case is different.
thank you. I agree that we need the doctor's opinion on this. I just had my second scan this afternoon and the doctor who did the u/s today seemed to be much more knowledgeable and informative. She said the 2 big fibroids are actually outside the uterus and would not have caused any issues to the baby. And then.. for me, the baby had never developed due to blighted ovum! :(
But nevertheless I would not take another chance with fibroids.. I am scheduled for d&c tomorrow morning.I will surely be discussing with my gynaec doctor about the fibroids after that.
I would definitely discuss this with your doctor before ttc again. Fibroids can cause problems during pregnancy so its important to find out what your doctor thinks is the best coarse of action in your situation.
